Since 1994, Alipore Social Welfare Trust (ASWT) has been operating as a voluntary organisation providing financial support to those who do not have sufficient funds to meet their health and care needs. Recognising the negative impact of health inequalities we understand the importance of addressing them.
In 2023, ASWT (aka Alipore Hospital) became a UK registered charity and continues to focus on helping vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in the Gujarat state of India.
ASWT is entirely run by a team of volunteers. Support from both UK-based and international charities also strengthens our capacity to provide vital help to those in need.
What We do
Our aims are simple, we will continue to support charitable organisations such as hospitals and medical clinics where patients who cannot afford treatment can receive the care they need without worrying about costs.
We will continue to support hospitals, mobile clinics, and health education programmes that will reach under-served communities offering vital medical services, preventative care and mental health support.
It is important that we continue to address both immediate medical needs and long-term educational gaps. Thus, we support charitable hospitals in acquiring vital medical equipment and support individuals who want to pursue medical education but lack the resources to do so.
